Scrubbers are devices that catch and eliminate pollutants by using a liquid (usually water). A cleaning liquid is atomized and disseminated into the gas stream via a nozzle or aperture. By aggregation, adhesion, or encapsulation, the droplets entrain and collect dust particles. The particles’ size and mass are effectively increased, making them simpler to capture in a later filter or separation procedure. The cleaning liquid absorbs and neutralises gaseous contaminants at the same time. Suspended liquid is often collected and circulated through the system using mist collectors.
